For The Love Of Music

Ever had one of those days when all you wanted to do was to chill and listen to music?
Well I'm having one of those now. One song in particular actually.

Its an easy friday at the Office, not much to do. I'm travelling to Arusha tomorrow for about a Week or so (family related issues). I wish I were going under different circumstances lol! But oh well...its a chance to get away from all that is Dar Es Salaam for a bit.

Back to music...I get side tracked a little too easily !

I grew up in a big family, I'm the last born. My brothers and sisters love music. Or used to at least. So I grew up listening to everything they listened to. By the time I was a teenager, Music was the love of my life. Well that and one handsome boy (as he then was lol!), not a boy and not so handsome anymore LOL! To date, Music has remained to be the love of my life. Always will be.

There are songs that make me happy, there are others that I listen to from a place in my heart I didn't know exists...they touched me in the strangest ways possible...

Today I can't stop listening to this song below. Its beautiful and sad I think, though it makes me feel...well, I can't really describe the feeling.


This lady has an amazing voice. It's different. And the words in the song are quite something. I love how she chose to say what she wanted to say. Not your typical my heart is breaking I can't live without you stuff!! This is just amazing!!

Where do I start... Every year, when it's time to pay my rent, I start thinking about how much I would like for this to one day stop altogether. My parents were teachers, employed by the Government, so I was born in a house that my parents ended up living in for more than twenty years. And when my father retired a few years ago, he was able to purchase the said house from the government. Rent was never an issue. Until I started my own life, in this beautiful and crazy City. Having recently moved to a bigger place, my rent has gone higher. Most Landlords require payment of a year's rent upfront, and if you are lucky, six months. I am positive rent would not be so painful if we could pay on a monthly basis. When I own a couple of houses I will let my tenants pay in this way. Death, Loss and grief...and new beginnings

 I have been dreading doing this. Writing about the past year.  But I woke up with a very heavy heart today, and its not an unfamiliar feeling. I have felt this way the day my father passed away, on 2nd February 2017, and the day my mother passed away too, on 3rd September 2019. I fear that it means another death is eminent. But I am scared of even voicing those thoughts. I need to write two submissions today and unless I am able to shake off this heaviness in my heart, I fear I might not be able to meet my deadlines. So here goes. When my father died, three years ago, as hard and painful as it was,I never really came as close to death as I did when mama passed on. I was with him for a week at the Hospital as he was hooked to a machine. I got to talk to him, to pray with him, to tell him I loved him, to apologize for being a crappy daughter. Time to get back to writing...

Hello! It sure has been a long time. So much has happened in the past few Months. I had a baby, beautiful little boy, who is now a little over eight Months, I got married to a wonderful Man, who is of course the father of my baby, and I lost my dad...this Month, to a freaking brain hemorrhage. I feel as though I have grown in so many ways. I have changed. Becoming a mother has brought certain qualities to the surface that I was not aware I possess. I think Its time for me to get back to doing what I love, and that includes writing in this little blog of mine. I am going to concentrate on different topics that do not necessarily touch on my personal life. I do tend to get carried away and pour my heart out, but I will try to control that and instead find things to write about that I am passionate about - aside from me LOL! So expect a  post soon...
