Ramblings about my amazing Weekend..

On Saturday, I had a few friends over...
I moved to this place (My current home) a few months ago and most of my friends had never been there.
So I decided to invite them over for lunch, and a few drinks!
We had fun, I made rice...that had eggs, carrots, onions, and green peas, roast Figo and Moyo, fried plantains, french fries and kachumbari!
The sad thing is I was too busy to take pictures...of the food that is. Managed to take a just a handful or so..


I also made a drink that I think I should call "Tilla", a mix of Officers Choice, Smirnoff Black Ice, A bit of White wine(Cant remember the name), Redds, White Grape Juice, and  I think I might have added a bit of Sprite as well!!
Everyone was happy and buzzed by the end of the night! We had an amazing Weekend. I think I just might be a good cook! Lol

The two pictures above are from Friday, roast gizzards (firigisi) and rice
And that was Saturday, vegetable/egg rice, fried irish potatoes, fried plantains and roast moyo and figo! Oh, there was fried chicken as well. And a bit of red wine, Dompo, my fav! Had to use paper cups to avoid washing too many glasses...or maybe I don't have enough glasses?! It was a really good Weekend...

Where do I start... Every year, when it's time to pay my rent, I start thinking about how much I would like for this to one day stop altogether. My parents were teachers, employed by the Government, so I was born in a house that my parents ended up living in for more than twenty years. And when my father retired a few years ago, he was able to purchase the said house from the government. Rent was never an issue. Until I started my own life, in this beautiful and crazy City. Having recently moved to a bigger place, my rent has gone higher. Most Landlords require payment of a year's rent upfront, and if you are lucky, six months. I am positive rent would not be so painful if we could pay on a monthly basis. When I own a couple of houses I will let my tenants pay in this way. Death, Loss and grief...and new beginnings

 I have been dreading doing this. Writing about the past year.  But I woke up with a very heavy heart today, and its not an unfamiliar feeling. I have felt this way the day my father passed away, on 2nd February 2017, and the day my mother passed away too, on 3rd September 2019. I fear that it means another death is eminent. But I am scared of even voicing those thoughts. I need to write two submissions today and unless I am able to shake off this heaviness in my heart, I fear I might not be able to meet my deadlines. So here goes. When my father died, three years ago, as hard and painful as it was,I never really came as close to death as I did when mama passed on. I was with him for a week at the Hospital as he was hooked to a machine. I got to talk to him, to pray with him, to tell him I loved him, to apologize for being a crappy daughter. Time to get back to writing...

Hello! It sure has been a long time. So much has happened in the past few Months. I had a baby, beautiful little boy, who is now a little over eight Months, I got married to a wonderful Man, who is of course the father of my baby, and I lost my dad...this Month, to a freaking brain hemorrhage. I feel as though I have grown in so many ways. I have changed. Becoming a mother has brought certain qualities to the surface that I was not aware I possess. I think Its time for me to get back to doing what I love, and that includes writing in this little blog of mine. I am going to concentrate on different topics that do not necessarily touch on my personal life. I do tend to get carried away and pour my heart out, but I will try to control that and instead find things to write about that I am passionate about - aside from me LOL! So expect a  post soon...
