FATE...DESTINY

I haven't posted in a really long while.
I'm going to try to change that and make it atleast something I do maybe twice a week...will see.
Well I have been super busy with life! lol! Nothing in particular, just, well, living! And boy do I know how to do that!

Aanyhow. Today, in the middle of preparing the most complex Contract I have ever had to prepare in my entire career as a Lawyer, I thought of the word "fate", and what it means.

Do we have control over what happens to us in life? or is it the work of a force that we have no control over...as in, are our lives predetermined? that if  they were meant to go in a certain direction then that's the direction they will go despite our efforts to the contrary?
The people we meet, our jobs, our friends, the people we fall in love with, hell maybe even the people we end up with eventually, is it all planned?  OR DO WE ACTUALLY HAVE CONTROL OVER OUR LIVES AND HOW THEY TURN OUT?

I would really like the second alternative. Seriously. Coz if regardless of what we do, regardless of how hard we try to stir our lives in a certain direction, if what happens at the end of the day is what was meant to happen, and what would have happened regardless...does it all not seem like such a waste of energy?
Why not sit back and just enjoy the ride, not push ourselves to aany limit whatsoever, just let this power- and in this case I mean God I think, just take control and stir it in the direction he intended in the first place?

Anyway, what do I know. I am super exhausted. It has been a long day. I am happy tomorrow if friday atleast I get to forget about work for two days (happy dance)

Where do I start... Every year, when it's time to pay my rent, I start thinking about how much I would like for this to one day stop altogether. My parents were teachers, employed by the Government, so I was born in a house that my parents ended up living in for more than twenty years. And when my father retired a few years ago, he was able to purchase the said house from the government. Rent was never an issue. Until I started my own life, in this beautiful and crazy City. Having recently moved to a bigger place, my rent has gone higher. Most Landlords require payment of a year's rent upfront, and if you are lucky, six months. I am positive rent would not be so painful if we could pay on a monthly basis. When I own a couple of houses I will let my tenants pay in this way. Death, Loss and grief...and new beginnings

 I have been dreading doing this. Writing about the past year.  But I woke up with a very heavy heart today, and its not an unfamiliar feeling. I have felt this way the day my father passed away, on 2nd February 2017, and the day my mother passed away too, on 3rd September 2019. I fear that it means another death is eminent. But I am scared of even voicing those thoughts. I need to write two submissions today and unless I am able to shake off this heaviness in my heart, I fear I might not be able to meet my deadlines. So here goes. When my father died, three years ago, as hard and painful as it was,I never really came as close to death as I did when mama passed on. I was with him for a week at the Hospital as he was hooked to a machine. I got to talk to him, to pray with him, to tell him I loved him, to apologize for being a crappy daughter. Time to get back to writing...

Hello! It sure has been a long time. So much has happened in the past few Months. I had a baby, beautiful little boy, who is now a little over eight Months, I got married to a wonderful Man, who is of course the father of my baby, and I lost my dad...this Month, to a freaking brain hemorrhage. I feel as though I have grown in so many ways. I have changed. Becoming a mother has brought certain qualities to the surface that I was not aware I possess. I think Its time for me to get back to doing what I love, and that includes writing in this little blog of mine. I am going to concentrate on different topics that do not necessarily touch on my personal life. I do tend to get carried away and pour my heart out, but I will try to control that and instead find things to write about that I am passionate about - aside from me LOL! So expect a  post soon...
