Being me...

Long long Weekend! Well maybe not too long! Tomorrow is Mayday...we call it May mosi here. So no work for everyone. And then there's Saturday and Sunday coming...that's three whole days off for me. I am super excited, mostly because I get to sleep in. We have already established that waking up early is not my most favorite thing in the world! I have been trying to come up with ways to make the most of the Weekend. Thought of travelling to visit my parents in Dodoma...it has been a while. But that wont be possible, at least not on this particular weekend.  So basically the plan is to watch a lot of TV, Cook and eat a lot, go see a movie or two and get ready for work on Monday. One thing that makes me love Dar is that one can never run out of places to go to. There are Weekends when either my friends are unavailable, or I just feel like spending some time alone, and I would stay at home for a while and when that gets old, head out to one of the many beautiful hotels...

I love my sleep. Waking up early in the morning, especially on Weekdays can be pretty tough, especially at the beginning of the week. I usually wake up thinking is this it? is this what its really all about really? Monday to Friday, waking up early to beat the crazy Dar es Salaam traffic, working all day, or pretending to!! then in the evening it is the trek back home, again...an empty apartment, a bit of TV, a quick snack and off to bed again. So it got me thinking....is this it really? Shouldn't there be something more? I come from a big family. I grew up in a family of seven kids, four brothers and two sisters. It was a full house always, with cousins and other relatives and family friends coming for long visits that turned to weeks or months! The house was always full, and noisy. I grew up longing for a time when I will have a place of my own, and have a bit of quietness. And then I grew up, finished Uni, and got a job, and a place of my own...and here I am now! in my late...

So.. I have been thinking of doing this for a really long time, blogging that is. But somehow never got around to doing anything about it. A close friend inspired me, she has been at it for a long time and I thought, well, I can do that! I mean why not! So here I am! The plan is to post about each and everything that I find of interest on that particular day. If I ever get visitors here, well I hope you enjoy going through the posts!
